Tatiana Abayeva
Piano
Tatiana Abayeva is among Ukraine’s most renowned and successful piano teachers. She graduated with honors from the Lysenko Music School for Gifted Children in Kyiv, the Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow and the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine. Her teachers included eminent musicians such as Anatoliy Vedernikov and Vladimir Tropp.
For more than thirty years, she taught at the Kyiv Specialized Musical College for Gifted Young Talents, where she developed her own distinctive teaching approach, focused on imagination, creativity and helping students discover their personal musical voice. Her students have won more than one hundred international piano competitions, including major prizes in the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Poland and Switzerland.
Since 2022, Tatiana has been a resident piano professor at the Davidsbündler Music Academy. Her students have received awards at competitions including the Concertgebouw Competition, Princess Christina Competition, Steinway Competition and several leading international piano competitions across Europe.
Alongside her teaching career, Tatiana is also an accomplished pianist. Together with her brother, violinist Alexander Abayev, she won international chamber music competitions in Paris and Italy. For her contribution to culture, she has received several awards from the Ukrainian government, including the honorary title “Honored Culture Worker of Ukraine”.
