May 4 – 9, 2021
After the successful first edition of the Stift Musical Encounters 2019, and the cancelled 2020 edition, we have now started to organise the edition of May 2021. It will take place at the wonderful Stift in the rural village of Weerselo (the Netherlands).
The venues are the gorgeous 15th century Stiftskerk and the Stiftsschool next to it. Those familiar with the Stiftfestival will know the charming and very pretty setting as well as the famous Twentse hospitality!
The pieces that we we’ll work on will include:
- Bruch Nonet
- Golijov Last Round
- Dvorak String quintet op. 77
- Schubert Trout quintet (“Forellen”)
- Sjostakovitsj Piano quintet
- Dvorak Piano quintet
The participation fee is kept as low as possible: € 400. Ensembles (3 persons and up) pay € 325 per person. This includes accommodation with host families and all meals (communal lunches and dinners). Travel costs are for your own account.
Individual participants as well as existing duos, trios and quartets are invited to apply until April 1st, 2021.
The internationally renowned Masters for the second edition
Daniel Rowland (violin), Lilli Maijala (viola), Maja Bogdanovic (cello), Nino Gvetadze (piano), Anthony Hewitt (piano) and Olivier Thiery (double bass).
More about the Masters
Studying, rehearsing, coaching and meals are to take place in the Stift School, next to the beautiful 15th century Stiftskerk (Stift Church).
