Joel Henryson is a basist, singer and producer from Stockholm, Sweden. He recently released his album Senses.

Henryson is currently freelancing with different projects within electronic music, both solo and ensembles, as well as jazz, pop and his own artistic project.

His newly released album Senses is rooted in what some would call Global Grooves but has clear connections to modern soul, jazz and ambient music. Made entirely by Joel Henryson it was released on the Danish independent hip-hop/beat-label Super Bad Disco.

Joel Henryson got his bachelor’s degree at Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen where he studied with for example bassists Gary Willis and Sam Wilkes. He also started a master’s degree in music production at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm which got put on hold to make way for work as a freelancing performer.

He has had the chance to play in a large variety of settings: as a bass player he has performed in different pop and jazz constellations, as well as improvised hip hop and club settings, for example Nebula in Denmark. As a synthesist at rock and indie festivals as well as at the Swedish Royal Academy of Music. As a singer he has performed movie scores and art soundtracks and in his early years as a boy soprano at the Stockholm Opera.
