Alma Serafin Kraggerud
Violin

Alma Serafin Kraggerud (2006) began playing the violin at the age of five and is regarded as one of Norway’s most promising young violinists. At just nine years old, she made her debut as a soloist with the Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra, performing for the royal families of Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

Since then, Alma has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Arctic Philharmonic, Oslo Philharmonic and Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. She has performed at festivals across Europe, such as the Bergen International Festival, Oslo Chamber Music Festival and West Cork Chamber Music Festival.

Alma has received several prestigious awards, including the Norwegian Soloist Prize and third prize at Eurovision Young Musicians 2022. Alongside her work as a violinist, she is also active as a composer; her orchestral work The Untold Mythwas performed by the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra.

She has collaborated with artists including Alexander Sitkovetsky, Natalie Clein, Brett Dean and Marianna Shirinyan. In 2025 she appeared as a soloist in Vivaldi’s Winter at the Oslo Opera House and took part in the world premiere of the opera Asle og Alida by Jon Fosse and Bent Sørensen.

Alma performs on the renowned “Ex-Karl Klingler” Stradivarius violin from 1720, generously loaned to her by Anders Sveaas Almennyttige Fond.
